Student Onboarding Flow Chart

1. Student/Parent attends showcase

2. Student receives an invite for RoboNet

3. The student creates a RoboNet account and provides

   1. School

   2. Grade

   3. 8th grade School

   4. preferred email (this is what RoboNet uses to provide access to Google Drive)

   5. Parent 1 name, email, phone, and company

   6. Parent 2 name, email, phone, and company

4. Parent 1 gets an email from RoboNet requesting to provide the following: if Parent 1 does not receive the email, they should request the student to go back and confirm/correct the parent 1email. 

   1. student address

   2. student number

5. Student receives welcome to 691 email (Starting in 2026, student will receive direct invite to slack)

Mentor Onboarding Flow Chart

1. Adult informs Coaches they would like to assist.

   1. If they want to mentor regularly, the coach will provide the school rep with the adult contact info, and the school will reach out with required trainings/paperwork/fingerprinting

   2. If they want to help with on-off cases, Coach will make a note and request they come in for specific assistance, such as, but not limited to, building field elements at kick off.

2. Once the adult has completed all school-required trainings/paperwork, Coach will invite them to RoboNet, which will provide them with access to the drive, and starting in 2026, mentor will receive a direct invite to slack.

3. Coach will also invite them to the FIRST Dashboard, where they will go through FIRST Volunteer Training and FIRST Mentor Training. This is also where they will complete their YPP screening with FIRST and their AB506 items.
